Rotary clubs are part of an organisation founded within the US. The organisation is set up to support charities both on the international scale and in local communities, with a specific focus on the eradication of disease. Membership is open to both male and female business leaders with the goal of giving back to the educational community and world at large.

The Rotary club has grown significantly over the last century. There are now 1.2 million members from various different business organizations across the globe within 200 countries and attending 33,000 different clubs. This number is only growing as the years go by.

Rotary International is not a religious or a political organisation. Instead, it guides all of its members to provide service to the local community and their place of work. The organisation itself offers support to the foundation by the same name which works all over the world in order to eradicate disease, get rid of poverty, improve health conditions, and promote education.

The motto of the organisation is 'service above self' and the number one goal is to eradicate polio, in particular, around the world. The organisation works with the World Health Organization as well as the US centre for the control of disease in order to provide immunizations across the world within nations that cannot afford proper healthcare.

If you want to gain membership to the organisation then you will need to be invited as it is by invitation only. The invitation needs to be issued out by someone who is already a member and qualified individuals who are allowed to join up at only those who have served the community or a business within a position of leadership.

Any candidate must also be well recognised as having a good reputation and a strong character. A history of involvement in a positive fashion within the community is also a necessity for entry.
